Sentence Punctuation.

Punctuation marks at the end of a sentence are useful signals for a reader. They have three main purposes.  Read the information below, and click on each link to see examples.

Use a period to show the end of a sentence. 

Example:

My house is on Main Street.

Use a question mark at the end of a sentence to show a direct question. 

Example: 

Where is my hat?

    Use an exclamation mark at the end of a sentence to show surprise or excitement. 

    Example:

    The movie was exciting!
