Activity 1:

As you look over the names above, there are probably people that you didn't know were candidates in this election. Most of these candidates are third-party candidates. They are called third-party candidates because they aren't associated with either of the two major political parties, the Democratic Party or the Republican Party. Even though they may have good ideas, very few third-party candidates are ever successful in winning elective office.
