Away to Winter’s Sleep
by Kathy Guertin
In fall, a season dear to me,
Birch display gold coin leaves
Shimmering in the autumn breeze.
I stroll in the mountains,
Listening to a crunch beneath my feet,
Parchment, once a leaf,
Withering away to winter’s Sleep.
Leaf and I, in a winter dream
Share visions of spring,
Resurrection of life,
Joy it will bring
Time for growth,
Time to bloom
Then sleep again beneath fall’s moon. |
