The Birth of my Children
When my daughter Tina was born I was in Germany. I was in the Army at the
time so I wasn’t on hand to support my wife or help her with the delivery.
When my son Kenneth was born I was at work in my Pizza Restaurant in Adams.
When my daughter Dawn was born I was in the hospital myself for an operation
on my eyes. When my son Walter was born I was in work at the Orchards in
Williamstown and no one would cover for me. Now when my daughter Melissa
was born we had to transport my wife to B. M. C. in Pittsfield because
she was having a hard time with the birth. After nine hours the doctor
came to me and asked me whom he should save, my wife or the child? I hesitated
for about five minutes and I told him to try to save them both, but if
he couldn’t, please save my wife. I told him that we had four other children
at home that needed her and that I needed her around to help me with them.
About six hours later the doctor came back to me and said that he was able
to save them both and that it was a girl. |
