English Language Arts
Writing Curriculum Frameworks
Project Overview

The Project
The project focus is creating and evaluating a writing curriculum sequence by integrating English Language Arts Curriculum Frameworks and Web based learning. A key feature is developing online learning resources using selected ELA Writing Frameworks Standards and teacher feedback. Selected writing standards and Web based learning material are the central elements of the Web site designed for this project. Online assessment tools help determine student levels and learning needs. Writing portfolios and time logs provide a structure for guiding student work and documenting progress. Students submit completed work to the online literary magazine appearing on the Web site. Students serve as assistant editors for the magazine. Published writing is shared at a Coffee House event. Learning material, resources, assessment tools, student literary magazine and images of the process and project appear at the Virtual Writing Classroom Web site at: http://www.abeged.com/ela-cf.html
